Artisan Craftsmanship
Each cushion cover is individually handwoven and Kantha-embroidered by skilled artisans of Maharashtra, ensuring no two pieces are exactly alike. Kantha embroidery — traditionally worked in running stitch across layers of fabric — creates a beautifully textured, quilted surface that is both tactile and visually rich. The slight imperfections in weave and stitch are a testament to the handmade process and add to each piece’s individuality.
Heritage & Tradition
Kantha is one of India’s oldest and most cherished embroidery traditions, with roots in Bengal and a living practice across Maharashtra and beyond. Traditionally created by women stitching together layers of old saris with simple running stitches, Kantha has evolved into a celebrated art form — recognised for its meditative beauty and cultural depth. Each piece by Tesu honours this living heritage, bringing the warmth of Kantha craft into the contemporary home.
